Meet the Teachers



Dr. Pat Mitchell

Hayfield Theatre Director

Pat Mitchell is the Theatre Arts Director at Hayfield Secondary School.  He has been teaching for 9 years, previously at Yorktown High School, H-B Woodlawn Secondary, and Holmes Middle School.  He attended George Mason University for his BA in Theatre, the University of Virginia for his M.Ed.  and completed his Ph.D. in Education Leadership at George Mason University in the fall of 2018.  He has worked professionally with the Keegan Theatre in Washington DC, touring Ireland in their cast of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.  He was also a Production Manager for Synetic Theatre in Arlington Virginia and worked on their productions of Christmas Carol, Romeo and Juliet, and Carmen.  He is a graduate of Fairfax County Public Schools and passionately believes in the importance and positive impact that theatre education can have on students.  He is an avid fan of the Washington Capitals, Disney World, and Coffee.



Hayfield Middle School Theatre Director

Meaghan Sniegowski is the Hayfield Middle School Theatre Arts Director. She attended Penn State University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. She also recently graduated with her M.Ed., emphasizing in Special Education with a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. She has previously worked as a behavioral therapist and a special education aid. She believes in inclusive teaching and theatre, involving students of all different backgrounds. She is also a CrossFit coach. Ms. Sniegowski has a love for small animals, Ravens and PSU football, and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
